N. Norman Schutzman (July 20, 1920 - March 30, 2016) was a business owner in Wilmington who served as president of Congregation Beth Shalom and Jewish Community Center, and helped establish the Melton School and endowment program for the Jewish Federation of Delaware. He served in World War II and in 1948 volunteered to serve in the Israeli Army during Israel's War of Independence.
In this interview, Mr. Schutzman describes his early life in Wilmington, serving in the army during World War II, and his experience as a volunteer officer in the Israeli War of Independence in 1948. Afterwards he discusses establishing the endowment program for the Jewish Federation of Delaware, the Melton School, and his career as a businessman.
