Later Work: According to his obituary of August 31, 1992 in the Philadelphia Inquirer, “Mr. Poland was the proprietor of Poland Jewelry Store in Penns Grove for 50 years. A native of Wilmington, Del., he got started in the jewelry business in his family's business in Wilmington. During World War II he enlisted in the Army Air Corps, and he retired from the Air Force Reserves as a lieutenant colonel in 1978.
