Dr. Ralph Tomases (1920-2009) was a Wilmington dentist, Chief of the Dental Staff at the Delaware State Hospital, and World War II veteran. Dr. Tomases was a Captain in the U.S. Army Dental Corps and member of the 106th Infantry Division. In 1944 his unit was captured by the German army during the Battle of the Bulge, and he was a prisoner of war until being liberated by the Russian Army in 1945.
